Curriculum

Graduate students are offered the opportunity to enroll in joint MPH/MSN degree programs. The MSN in Health Leadership combined with the MPH degree is outlined below.

Students will complete the core requirements of both the MPH (9 core courses plus 1 PUBH elective) and MSN in Health Leadership Program (6 courses) for a total of 16 courses for the joint degree program for nursing students in the Health Leadership Program.

Masters in Public Health: 10 courses required [10 CUs]

  1. NURS 500/PUBH 502: Introduction to Principles and Methods of Epidemiology

  2. PUBH 501: Introductory Biostatistics

  3. PUBH 503: Environmental & Occupational Health

  4. PUBH 504: Public Health Theories & Frameworks

  5. PUBH 505: Public Health Administration and Policy

  6. PUBH 506: Methods for Public Health Practice

  7. PUBH 507: Public Health Law & Ethics

  8. PUBH 508: Capstone Seminar I

  9. PUBH 509: Capstone Seminar II

  10. Public Health elective

Masters of Science in Nursing, Health Leadership: 6 courses required (6 CUs)

Please note that NURS 500: Introduction to Principles of Epidemiology is required in both programs
