Asian Health Initiatives

Welcome!

Established in 2004, the Penn Asian Health Initiatives embodies the three guiding principles of Penn’s School of Medicine: “increase access, integrate knowledge, and local and global engagement.” Consistent with this guiding structure, we strive to integrate academic exploration with community involvement. The Asian Health Initiatives is an associated program of the Penn Center for Public Health Initiatives and is based at the School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

Our key activities include the following:

Engagement of Asian American Communities
Community-Based Participatory Research
Health Communication research with a focus on linguistically isolated communities
Media Partnerships
Education and mentoring of medical students and graduate students in public health
Health Outreach, including cancer control, health education and immunization
